The Pathology of a Two Party Oligarchy

As long as we accept a system dominated by two corporate entities whose only real differences are rhetorical then we will continue to be a global rogue nation that can justify any action by its self-serving pragmatism, while using the corporate media to assuage, mitigate, and propagate its deceptions. We do not have the time to continue the myth that the Democratic party offers any viable solutions to the brutality of American hegemony,  and injustice. Violence and domination are what mainstream American culture is all about, as well as a vile and social-Darwinian abilty to blame the victims of our violence.
In 2000 I voted for Ralph Nader and invested considerable time working on his campaign. That year was the first time I ever voted for a candidate ( Nader) and not for the lesser of two evils. It was also a time when I felt considerable hope that progressives of all stripes would come together and force this country to live up to its creed. That hope has since dissipated.
The Democrats offer no solutions and energetically applaud a two party system as a viable democracy. At the same time they oppose any reform that would diversify and revitalize our putative democratic values (Instant Run-off Voting, for example). Their dangerous waffling around global warming and failure to hear what the science is telling us is just one egregious example of  Republicrat corporate fealty and moral abstinence. Our species is on a suicidal trajectory while our robust two party democracy continues to sell us out to the highest bidding corporate asshole.
