Destruction of Public Education

Anyone in public education should know a couple of things. One is that NCLB has left students less knowledgeable and capable of thinking for themselves as teachers are coerced into teaching to a test that is badly written, and represents a very narrow curriculum. Teachers have been incessantly indoctrinated into believing that the corporate agenda of school reform is well intentioned and based on replicated data from rigourous peer - reviewed studies. Less is more has become an anthem recited endlessly by the the privatizers who really care nothing about children. The corporate strategem is to crush teacher unions, collective bargaining, and ultimately to privatize all education in this country. A nation of problem solvers and critical thinkers is antithetical to this agenda. America can maintain its suicidal trajectory and toxic status quo by mass producing robotic idiots. Sadly, the privatizers seem to be winning with the help of a self-loathing, and credulous teaching profession. jj
