Nationalize British Petroleum

The British Petroleum Gulf oil spill demonstrated the callous corporate view of people and human life as little more than capital. It also demonstrated that the destruction and desecration of one of the planet's most productive marine ecosystems was not an ecological catastrophe, but merely a public relations disaster. In order, to repair their brand, BP has spent billions of dollars in bullshit advertisements that seek to green wash their image and take advantage of the short-term memory deficits of the American people. The company's extensive use of dispersants like the highly toxic Corexit accomplished two things: 1) Its comestic effect of making the oil seem to disappear mitigated the collective rage at at one more egregious example of corporate malfeasance in order to maximize their bottom line. 2) Corexit amplified BP's toxic assault on the a precious resource that belongs to all of us.
